AVERT Training

Active violence and mass casualty events are happening daily. Active Violence Emergency Response Training (AVERT) can be
the life saving advantage for your team, should you be faced with an active shooter or other violent event. Let us teach you
simple, yet effective life-saving techniques that will give you the confidence to react in an active violence event.

Coal-Tar Variance

This session covers the NYSDOL Blanket Variance (RG&E and NYSEG) for the removal of Coal Tar Coating from gas and water pipes. Topics covered include background on Coal Tar, variance requirements and the 1993 Dr. Morton Corn study on coal tar. Asbestos Awareness is a pre-requisite.

Distracted Driving

This session will concentrate on the different types of distractions that draw our attention away from the task of driving and ways to counteract this growing challenge. We will also review defensive driving strategies to help improve awareness behind the wheel and reduce the likelihood of accidents.

Forklift & Powered Industrial Trucks

This course includes in-person instruction and hands on operation. Training focuses on not only workers to be cautious around this equipment, but also trains the equipment operator to be safe. Uneven ground, wet or slick conditions and obstacles all pose hazards at the workplace.

Lead Awareness

Managing the many facets of compliance regarding the USEPA and OSHA Standards for impacting materials containing lead.

OSHA 10-hour Construction

This 10-hour training program is primarily intended for entry level workers. This course provides information about worker rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint and provides basic awareness training on the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of workplace hazards.

Office Safety & Workplace Violence

Collaboration of safety elements for the office environment. Focuses on preventative measures, emergency procedures and developing a Workplace Violence Policy. Session will help address Active Shooters, violence in the workplace, some of the warning signs for violent behaviors and the importance of reporting aggressive behavior.

Rigging & Material Handling

This course details the many requirements for proper rigging and material handling, considering the many types of materials and various situations. Topics include stacking and storing of materials, safe load limits and proper selection and inspection of rigging equipment.

Transportation Safety

This course is outlined to follow the Federal Motor Carriers Regulations (FMCR). The topics covered in this course include Daily Vehicle inspections, Materials of Trade regulations, Distracted Driver, cargo Securement, and Material Handling. This Course focuses on the operator/driver of deliver and commercial motor vehicles

Aerial Lift Training / MEWP

This class is based on the new ANSI Standards A92.20 safety requirements. A92.22 safe use and A92.24 training requirements. The class includes hands on instruction and practical exam.

Cut-Off Saw Safety

This awareness course provides vital information on cut-off saws so that you and your employees are fully aware of the operating characteristics and dangers of this widely used saw in the construction industry. There are many different cut-off saw manufacturers, models, and power sources available, but they all have one thing in common: they can be dangerous if you are not properly trained on them and don’t understand the power associated with this tool. This awareness class covers OSHA regulations, basic safe operating procedures, appropriate PPE and blade selection.

Fall Protection

The course covers the human and the equipment-related issues in protecting workers from fall hazards. A few of the topics covered in this training are recognizing when fall protection is required and selection of appropriate fall protection including guardrail systems, person fall arrest systems and controlled access zones.

HazCom Training

A brief recap on the Hazard Communication and Globally Harmonized System (GHS) standard requirements and then a closer look at a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) to breakdown the areas of key concern. Will examine elements of critical sections to understand the information contained within the SDS and make it as user friendly as possible.

Lock-Out / Tag-Out

This session will help address implementation of practices and procedures to shut down equipment, isolate energy sources, and prevent the release of potentially hazardous energy while maintenance and servicing activities are being performed. Directed at ensuring that equipment is isolated from all sources of energy and locked out to prevent any unexpected energizing, startup, or release of stored energy that could cause injury.

OSHA 30-hour Construction

This 30-hour training program is intended to provide workers with some safety responsibility a greater depth and variety of training on an expanded list of topics associated with workplace hazards than the 10-hour course. Training topics emphasizes hazard identification, avoidance, control and prevention.

Permit Required Confined
Space Entry

The course gets intimate with the OSHA standards and regulations pertaining to confined space and non-entry rescue. Including equipment and procedures. Delivered by OSHA accredited instructors.

Sexual Harassment

A review of federal and New York State law with respect to sexual harassment in the workplace. This course will satisfy the annual training requirements set by the New York State Department of Labor. Certification received upon successful completion of course.

Trenching & Excavation

This course gives you a basic understanding of how to work safely in and around excavations and trenches. You will learn about the unique hazards of this type of work, including cave-ins and falls. The course also discusses the preventative measures for excavation hazards like how soil and rock classification greatly impacts safety, as well as the protective systems and equipment you will need.

Asbestos Awareness

This awareness course conforms to the training requirements outlined in 29 CFR 1926.1101(k) (9)(viii). Background of asbestos, applicable federal and state regulations, health effects and typical locations of asbestos are all covered in the 2-hour course.

Fire Protection / Extinguishers

Course is aligned to multiple OSHA regulations pertaining to fire prevention, fire watch, and fire extinguisher use.

Human & Organizational Performance

Human & Organizational Performance Improvement or HOP is a science-based approach to understanding how and why people make mistakes or errors, and what we can do about them either as an organization or as an individual. This helps reduce errors and prevent events. It is all about the human side of safety.

NYS DOT Flagger Training

This course will instruct the student to be a safe and effective flagger. Understanding proper flagger operations the standard skillset of a good flagger are stressed. As well as identify standard flagger control references and learn standard flagger practices for various situations.

OSHA Hazwoper Refresher

The Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard (HAZWOPER) applies to employees who may be exposed or potentially exposed to hazardous substances -- including hazardous waste -- and who may be engaged in clean-up, corrective actions, voluntary clean-up, treatment, storage or disposal facilities or emergency response.

RF Radiation Awareness

Course is geared towards persons that may be impacted by RF (Radio Frequency). Target personnel may include telecommunication crews, tower personnel and rooftop workers.

Silica Awareness

Managing the many facets of compliance regarding OSHA’s Construction Standards for Respirable Crystalline.

Worker Scaffold Safety

This course contains both classroom discussion on OSHA requirements for scaffolding, but also a hands-on section for safe construction, use and dismantling of the many different styles of construction scaffolding.

Bloodborne Pathogens

This course covers OSHA's standards for minimizing exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens (BBPs) in the workplace. Exposure Control Programs, universal precautions and methods for reducing your risk of exposure to the diseases they may cause will be covered in this course along with how BBPs are transmitted. Finally, you'll learn the procedures to follow after an exposure incident.

Defensive Driving

The Defensive Drivers Discount class is a classroom-based class which upon successful completion makes the individual eligible for a discount on their auto insurance and up to four-point reduction on their driving record.

First Aid / CPR / AED

In collaboration with American Red Cross, Licensed/Authorized Training Providers instruct in person classes to help individuals prepare for and respond to emergencies properly.

Incident & Accident
Reporting

This program outlines best practices for employees and supervisors regarding incident management. Topics to be covered include initial response, reporting, documentation, and follow-up.

NYS DOT WZTC Competent Person

This course will allow contractors on NYSDOT and projects remain compliant per Section 619 – Work Zone Traffic Control. Students will learn the practices necessary to assure compliant and safe work zones.

Occupational Noise Exposure

In accordance with OSHA and NIOSH guidelines, Livingston Associates offers this awareness training to assist project managers, labor forces and other safety professional’s basic knowledge in occupational noise. This course provides background on noise exposure, permissible exposure limits, real-time monitoring, and employee/employer responsibilities in relation to hearing conservation in the construction industry.

Respiratory Protection

Providing education on the necessity of a respirator, the effect uses in emergency situations and malfunctions, reviewing the limitations and capabilities, procedures for maintenance and storage and the how to on inspections, proper wear, and removal.

Stray Voltage Awareness

This brief awareness training outlines Stray Voltage vs. Contact Voltage, including common dangers and locations. The course also details testing for Stray Voltage and requirements to be conducted safely.
